Mudgley lies in the Somerset Levels, reached via the A39 and B3139 through Wedmore. The village sits on slightly raised ground above the wetlands, with narrow lanes connecting to Bagley, Sand and Theale. Longer routes use the area as a gateway to Glastonbury or the M5 corridor. The surrounding landscape still shows the geometric pattern of old peat workings.
