Much Wenlock

England

England

Much Wenlock is a medieval market town in Shropshire, positioned between the Severn Valley and the Long Mynd uplands. The A458 connects it to Shrewsbury (12 miles) and Bridgnorth, whilst the B4378 and A4169 provide alternative routes. Long-distance visitors typically use the M54 to Junction 4, then follow the A442 and A458 through Wellington. The town famously hosted the Wenlock Olympian Games from 1850, which directly inspired the modern Olympics.
