Mow Cop

England

England

Mow Cop straddles the Staffordshire-Cheshire border on a prominent ridge, famous for its mock castle ruin and role as the birthplace of Primitive Methodism. Reach it via the A34 from Stoke-on-Trent (8km) or approach from the M6 Junction 16 through Kidsgrove. The 18th-century folly was built deliberately as a ruin at 335 metres above sea level.
