Mossley, Tameside

England

England

Mossley perches in the Pennine foothills where the River Tame carves through the valley between Greater Manchester and the Peak District. The A670 runs through the town centre, whilst the A635 provides the main route south to the M60 orbital. Most visitors approach via Junction 23 of the M60, then follow the A635 north through Ashton-under-Lyne. The Victorian railway station on the Huddersfield line features elaborate stone carvings that showcase the town's industrial heritage.
