Monquhitter is a small Aberdeenshire village set amongst fertile farmland, roughly 15 kilometres inland from the Moray Firth. Reach it via the A947 from Aberdeen through Oldmeldrum, or from Inverness using the A96 coastal route then A98 and A947. The surrounding countryside features gently rolling hills typical of northeast Scotland's agricultural heartland. The village sits near the remarkable Tarlair Swimming Pool, an Art Deco cliff-top lido from the 1930s.
