Mondynes lies in rural Aberdeenshire, about 20km southwest of Stonehaven in the Howe of the Mearns. Reach it via the A90 coastal route, then local roads through Drumlithie, or inland routes from Stonehaven via the B979. The village sits near Red Beard's Well, a centuries-old natural spring that once served passing travelers.
