Monasteraden

united kingdom

Monasteraden sits along the N4 about 12 kilometers southeast of Sligo city, making it a handy stop for those travelling between Dublin and the northwest. The town is easily reached from Dublin via the M4 and N4 in roughly two and a half hours, while drivers from Galway can connect through Charlestown using the N17, N5, and N4. Local traffic often uses the R284 to nearby Ballymote. The old railway station building, now a heritage center, houses artifacts from the former Midland Great Western Railway line that once served the area.
