England
Moat lies in Cumbria's borderlands, about 10 miles northeast of Carlisle near the Scottish border. Access is via the A69 from either Carlisle or Newcastle, then north through Brampton on minor roads. The B6318 Military Road provides an alternative route following Hadrian's Wall. Electric vehicle drivers will find over 20 fast chargers nearby, mainly around Carlisle. The settlement's name comes from medieval defensive earthworks, with remnants still visible in the surrounding fields.
