Midmar lies in rural Aberdeenshire, 25 kilometres west of Aberdeen via the A944 through Westhill. The village sits where farmland meets the Grampian foothills, with connections south to the A93 Deeside route and north via the B9119. EV charging is available at roughly 20 points across the wider area. Midmar Castle, a striking 16th-century Z-plan tower house in pink granite, dominates the village with its distinctive conical turrets.
