Midelney sits amid the Somerset Levels' distinctive flat wetlands, reached via the A378 from Langport or through connections from the A303 at South Petherton. The M5 lies 25 miles east through Taunton, whilst day trips from Glastonbury or Somerton take about half an hour through the levels' characteristic field patterns. The village church houses an exceptional 15th-century wooden rood screen, amongst Somerset's finest medieval craftsmanship.
