Middlesmoor perches high in upper Nidderdale, reached via the B6265 from Pateley Bridge through some of Yorkshire's most dramatic dale scenery. This remote farming village sits at the valley head with no through roads, making it a peaceful dead-end destination. The church of St. Chad houses a stunning wooden reredos by Robert Thompson, complete with his trademark carved mice.
