Middleham is a small Dales market town on the A6108 in Wensleydale, popular with walkers and cyclists exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The town sits 4km from Leyburn and offers good access via the A6055 from Scotch Corner or scenic routes through Hawes. The imposing ruins of Middleham Castle, Richard III's childhood home, dominate the town centre with its massive Norman keep.
