Merther lies in central Cornwall's Roseland Peninsula, nine kilometres from Truro cathedral city. The A390 provides the main connection eastward to Truro and beyond to Plymouth, whilst the B3287 heads south through Tresillian toward the King Harry Ferry. The village sits amidst some of Cornwall's most productive early potato farmland, where the peninsula's sheltered microclimate allows harvests weeks ahead of mainland crops.
