Merryoaks is a residential area just 3km southwest of Durham city centre, easily reached via the A167 or A691. The A1(M) lies 15km east for longer journeys, whilst local routes serve nearby suburbs like Langley Moor and Meadowfield. The area has good bus links to Durham station for rail connections to London and Scotland, plus access to over 200 EV charging points locally. Former miners' terraced houses with traditional stone-walled gardens characterise much of the neighbourhood.
