Menethorpe is a quiet North Yorkshire village about 20km northeast of York, reached via the A64 and country lanes through Westow or Kirkham. The surrounding Wolds countryside offers pleasant driving through traditional farming country, though the narrow lanes require care in wet weather. The parish church of St. Giles houses a rare medieval rood screen that escaped Reformation destruction.
