Melsonby is a North Yorkshire village on the A6108, conveniently placed between Richmond and the A1(M) at Scotch Corner. Most visitors arrive via Richmond (8km west) or directly from the A1 motorway services. The village sits in typical Dales countryside with stone walls and rolling fields, offering easy access to both major routes and quieter Swaledale roads. St. James' Church houses a remarkable 12th-century Norman font with intricate carved stonework that's survived virtually untouched for over eight centuries.
