Melrose

Melrose lies in the Scottish Borders along the River Tweed, reached via the A68 from Edinburgh (40 miles) or Newcastle. The A6091 connects to Galashiels and local Borders towns, whilst Tweedbank station nearby offers rail links to Edinburgh. Electric vehicle drivers will find around 25 fast chargers locally. The town centres on Melrose Abbey's striking pink sandstone ruins, which feature a carved stone pig playing bagpipes hidden amongst the medieval stonework.
