Meelin

Ireland

Ireland

Meelin is a small rural community in County Cork, about 15 kilometres northeast of Kanturk and 25 kilometres northwest of Mallow, right where Cork meets the Kerry border. The village sits on the R576, with most visitors coming from Mallow via the N20 then taking local roads west through Buttevant and Doneraile. It's roughly 50 kilometres from Cork city, while those from Kerry typically use the R577 north from Castleisland. The winding country roads are pleasant but can be narrow in spots. Electric vehicle drivers should plan charging stops in Mallow or Kanturk, as rural Cork has limited options. Meelin's standout feature is its traditional Irish country church perched on a small rise, its stone bell tower visible for kilometres across the surrounding farmland.
