Meare

Meare is a village in the Somerset Levels, that distinctive flat wetland area about 6 kilometers from Glastonbury. You'll reach it via the A39 from the M5 (Junction 23 through Bridgwater or Junction 22 via Street), with plenty of EV charging nearby. The village sits on what was once an island before the levels were drained, and you can still see the medieval fish house ruins where Glastonbury Abbey monks once farmed fish in stone-lined pools.
