Maxey is a small Cambridgeshire village near Peterborough, positioned where the fens meet Lincolnshire's border. The A16 through Market Deeping provides the main route north toward Spalding or south to Stamford and the A1, whilst local roads connect to Peterborough 8km east for daily commuting. The village church houses a superb 13th-century stone effigy of a knight in chain mail.
