Maud is a small Aberdeenshire village surrounded by farmland, about 50km north of Aberdeen via the A90 and A950. The most common route comes from Fraserburgh, 24km northeast through rural Buchan. It's a quiet agricultural hub near New Deer and Old Deer, with the restored Victorian railway station now housing Maud Railway Museum.
