Mauchline lies in East Ayrshire's countryside, roughly 35 kilometres southeast of Glasgow via the M77 and A76. This small town sits in Burns country, surrounded by the green farmland typical of the Scottish Lowlands. It's well-connected by the A76 trunk road and serves local villages through the B743 and B705. The town features Burns House Museum, where visitors can see the famous Mauchline Conversation Chairs crafted from wood of the tree under which the poet and Highland Mary Campbell made their romantic pledge.
