The A65 provides the main access from Kendal or Skipton, with most visitors approaching via Kirkby Lonsdale. Local roads connect to nearby Ingleton and the Dales villages. The village sits on an ancient drovers' route, with original stone bridges still spanning the local streams that gave Masongill its name.
