Marlpit is a small Kentish settlement reached via the A274 from Maidstone, about 8km northwest, with good motorway links to the M20 at Junction 7. Electric vehicle drivers will find roughly 90 fast chargers nearby, mostly around Maidstone. The village sits among rolling countryside typical of this part of Kent, surrounded by traditional hamlets like Boughton Monchelsea and Chart Sutton. The name derives from old marl pits where clay-rich soil was once dug for agricultural lime.
