Mardale
England
England
Mardale lies in the remote Lake District fells, reached via the A592 from Windermere or through Bampton from the A6. Most visitors come from Windermere (30km) or Keswick (40km) for day trips to this quieter corner of the national park. The valley is renowned for the submerged village of Mardale Green, deliberately flooded in the 1930s to create Haweswater Reservoir.
