Mappowder is a small Dorset village roughly 10 miles northwest of Blandford Forum, reached via the A357 and country lanes. Most visitors arrive from the A30/A303 corridor through Wiltshire or via the A35 from the south coast. The village sits in classic Blackmore Vale countryside with ancient drove roads still traceable as footpaths between the fields.
