Malacleit is a small coastal settlement on North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, reached via CalMac ferries from Skye, Harris, or Berneray, then the A865 road. The area forms part of a cluster of communities along North Uist's northwestern shore, with roughly 4 EV charging points available on the island. The settlement overlooks North Ford's tidal waters, where traditional kelp harvesting once provided alkali for soap and glass production.
