Low Walker occupies the Tyne's south bank between Hebburn and Jarrow, well-connected via the A194 to the A1 and locally through the A185 to Newcastle. The Tyne Tunnel provides easy access north, whilst the Metro serves public transport needs. The settlement sits near the eastern terminus of Hadrian's Wall at Segedunum Roman fort.
