Louisburgh

Ireland
Louisburgh sits on Mayo's western coast with grand views over Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick's pyramid peak to the east. The N59 from Westport is the main route, a lovely 20-kilometer spin through proper Irish countryside. From Galway, it's about 90 kilometers via the N84 to Castlebar, then the N5 and R335. The R335 from Leenaun gives you the finest approach, following Killary Harbour before opening onto the bay views. There are about 5 fast chargers for electric cars, handy for Wild Atlantic Way touring. The town's named after King Louis XVI of France, one of the few Irish places honoring a French monarch.
