Lockengate

Lockengate lies in Cornwall's china clay country, reached via the A391 between St Austell and Bodmin. The A30 provides longer-distance access through Indian Queens, whilst local routes serve nearby Bugle and Stenalees for daily commuting. Electric vehicle drivers will find over 70 fast chargers in the area, particularly along main routes. The village name derives from the Cornish "loken" meaning enclosure, and several original granite cottages from the china clay mining era still stand near the old Blackpool pit.
