Lochs sits on Lewis's eastern shore, reached via the A859 from Stornoway Airport, about 15 kilometres south. The main island route connects Harris and Stornoway, with local roads linking nearby villages like Keose and Leurbost. Electric vehicle drivers will find roughly 8 public fast chargers in the area. The village's name comes from the Gaelic "Na Lochan," referring to the numerous small freshwater lochs surrounding it, many famous for excellent trout fishing.
