Lochdon occupies a sheltered spot on Mull's eastern shore, reached via the Oban-Craignure ferry then a brief 5km drive north on the A849. The village serves as a peaceful base for exploring the island, with roughly 13 fast EV chargers available nearby for electric vehicle users. Its small harbour offers one of Mull's most protected anchorages for visiting yachts.
