Lochardil forms part of Inverness's southeastern suburbs, positioned along the River Ness just minutes from the Highland capital's centre. The A96 from Aberdeen and A9 Highland route provide main access, whilst the B862 connects directly to central Inverness. Popular drives include the Loch Ness circuit via A82 and Cairngorms routes south on the A9. Atlantic salmon run past the area each year during their upstream migration.
