Lix lies on the A85 trunk road through the Stirling Highlands, where Loch Tay narrows between surrounding hills. The A85 connects east to Stirling and Glasgow, west toward Oban, with the A84 providing an alternative southern approach via the Trossachs. About 7 fast EV chargers serve the area. The village is famous for Lix Toll, one of Scotland's last privately-owned toll bridges across the River Dochart.
