Little Braxted is a small Essex village just off the A12 between Chelmsford and Colchester, reached via junction 21 then country lanes through farmland. It's minutes from Witham and well-placed for exploring the Blackwater Valley's market towns. The 12th-century St Nicholas church contains exceptional medieval wall paintings that somehow escaped Reformation whitewashing.
