Linklet lies on Sanday in Orkney's northern islands, reached via ferry from Kirkwall 58 kilometres south or by small aircraft to the local airstrip. The village sits amongst several small settlements including Hollandstoun and Ancumtoun, all connected by single-track roads across this flat, windswept island. Sanday boasts the Start Point Lighthouse, standing 23 metres tall since 1870.
