Leighlinbridge

Ireland

Ireland

Leighlinbridge straddles the River Barrow about 10 kilometres south of Carlow town, sitting at the crossroads of the R705 and R448. It's a handy stop for drivers heading between Dublin and the southeast, with most coming off the N9 at Leighlinbridge junction. The village sits in rolling farmland with the Blackstairs Mountains rising to the east. The highlight is the medieval Norman stone bridge from the 14th century that still carries traffic across the Barrow between Carlow and Laois counties.
