Lastingham

England

England

Lastingham is a remote North York Moors village reached via winding lanes from Kirkbymoorside, about 9km to the southeast. Most visitors arrive via the A170 then follow moorland roads north through Keldholme. The elevated position creates cooler, mistier conditions than surrounding areas, with narrow roads requiring careful navigation. St. Mary's Church houses an extraordinary Norman crypt from 1078, built atop a 7th-century monastery site.
