Langdown lies in mid-Devon between North and South Tawton, reached via the A3072 from Exeter or A386 from Okehampton. The area's narrow lanes connect farming villages through typical Devon countryside of rolling hills and high hedgerows. About twelve EV charging points serve the locality, mainly in North Tawton and along the A30. The settlement features a well-preserved 16th-century Devon longhouse with its original shippon still attached under thatch.
