Lagavulin is a small coastal settlement on Islay known worldwide for its whisky distillery. The village sits on the A846, easily reached from Port Ellen (4km) or Islay Airport (12km). The distillery, established in 1816, ages its famous peated whisky in warehouses that face directly onto the Atlantic, giving the spirit its distinctive maritime character.
