Knockentiber is a former mining village in East Ayrshire, sitting between Kilmarnock and Kilmaurs along the A71. Most visitors arrive via the M77 and A71 from Glasgow, about 30 minutes away. Glasgow Prestwick Airport lies 20 kilometres southwest. The preserved colliery headframe remains a distinctive local landmark from the area's coal mining past.
