Knightswood occupies Glasgow's western suburbs between the Clyde and Forth and Clyde Canal. Great Western Road (A82) provides the main eastern route into town, whilst the M8's Junction 25 at Scotstoun offers motorway access. Popular local routes include the quick run along Great Western Road to the West End, plus connections north via A82 to Loch Lomond. Glasgow Airport sits just 8km southwest. The 1960s shopping centre replaced wartime bomb-damaged tenements.
