Kirkbride is a small Cumbrian village on the Solway Plain, reached via the A596 from Junction 42 of the M6. The area sits amid flat farmland with distant Lake District views, experiencing the region's typical mild but wet climate. Local roads connect to neighbouring villages like Whitrigg, whilst the main A596 carries traffic between Carlisle and coastal destinations. The village sits on the site of a former RAF training airfield from the Second World War.
