Kirkbean is a small coastal village in Dumfries and Galloway, about 20 kilometres south of Dumfries along the A710. The scenic coastal road makes for a pleasant drive through rolling countryside before reaching the Solway Firth shoreline. It's the birthplace of John Paul Jones, founder of the American Navy.
