Kinnitty is a quiet village in County Offaly, about 8 kilometers southeast of Birr on the R440, with the Slieve Bloom Mountains forming a lovely backdrop to the south. From Dublin, take the M7 to Junction 23 near Roscrea, then the R445 through Birr to the R440, covering roughly 120 kilometers. The village's main attraction is Kinnitty Castle, a Gothic Revival castle from the 1600s that's now a luxury hotel complete with ghost stories and medieval banquets.
