Kilternan lies in the foothills between Dublin city and the Wicklow Mountains, about 20 minutes south of the capital. Take the M50 to Junction 13, then follow the R117 southwest for 8 kilometres, or approach via the M11 and N11 from the coast. The elevated location gives grand views over Dublin Bay when the weather's clear. The area is famous for its championship golf courses at Powerscourt, where you can play against the backdrop of the Dublin Mountains.
