Killiney is a well-heeled seaside suburb about 15 kilometres south of Dublin, perched on hills above Dublin Bay with grand views across to Howth and the Wicklow Mountains. You'll get there quickest on the N11 from Dublin, though the coastal R119 through Dún Laoghaire makes for a lovely drive if you've time. From Dublin Airport, it's roughly 45 minutes via the M50 to N11. The area draws crowds to its beach and Killiney Hill walks, with Victorian houses lining the roads. The beach has a distinctive Martello tower, one of those old Napoleonic-era lookout posts dotting the coast.
