Killarney

Ireland
Killarney sits on Lough Leane's shore in Kerry, serving as your base for the National Park and Ring of Kerry drive. The N22 connects you to Cork (89 km) while the N71 heads to Tralee (34 km) and continues around the Ring. Kerry Airport is 15 km north with limited flights. The town has rail links to Dublin via Tralee. The National Park spans 100 square kilometres of lakes and mountains, with the MacGillycuddy's Reeks providing a dramatic backdrop. Traditional music fills the main street most evenings, but Killarney's most distinctive feature remains its fleet of jaunting cars - horse-drawn carriages that have carried visitors through the park since Victorian times.
