Kew lies along the Thames between Richmond and Chiswick, easily reached via the A4 and A315 from central London or the M25. The South Circular provides the main north-south route, whilst the A307 runs along the river. Popular routes include short hops from Richmond and Chiswick, plus longer drives from Windsor and Heathrow Airport 8 miles away. The Victorian railway bridge at Kew Gardens station creates a distinctive 30-foot-high archway over Station Approach, unchanged since 1869.
