Kettlethorpe is a small Lincolnshire village near the River Trent, about 10 miles southwest of Lincoln. Reach it via the A57 from Lincoln or A1133 from Newark, then follow country lanes. The village is famous for its medieval manor house, once home to Katherine Swynford, John of Gaunt's mistress and later wife, making it an unlikely royal connection.
